KNIGHT OF SWORDS
Here a knight dashes across open country, perhaps on a mission of romantic chivalry. Storm clouds are in the sky; cypress trees, sacred to Venus, are blown by the wind. Swords are the suit of air—thus we see birds, one on the knight’s arm, another on his mantle at the knee, and more of them on the horse’s harness. They are companioned by butterflies, symbols of the soul. Note that the swords in this suit point either upward to the highest ideals of life or downward to the depths of despair and death.
Choose this card for a dark-haired, brown-eyed young man.
